South Metro Development Outlook (SMDO) is the brainchild of Michael Hightower, Managing Partner of The Collaborative Firm, LLC, a planning, program management and development company.
Michael Hightower established SMDO in 2001, and it has emerged to become the largest development conference of its kind in south metropolitan Atlanta. The purpose of the conference is to convene individuals with a common interest in examining and discussing relevant growth-related issues in South Metro. It features relevant topics of interest that align with the current state of South Metro as well as the country. SMDO highlights Clayton, Coweta, Douglas, Fayette, Henry, and South Fulton counties, and the City of Atlanta.
Hightower has always and continues to be a proponent of smart growth in South Metro, which has increasing become a major power player in the region and is solidified as a beacon for the region’s economic growth.
